Jadi Tersangka Kasus Narkoba, 9 Mantan Anggota Polresta Batam Menyatakan Pretrial

As many as nine out of 10 former members of the Barelang-Batam-Kepri Police Satreskoba submitted a pretrial application regarding the legal determination of suspects by the Riau Islands Police (Kepri), which was registered with the Batam District Court.

Public Relations of the Batam District Court, Welly Indrianto, confirmed that the request had been registered with the court. "It's true, those who are nine people have submitted a pretrial application on September 18, 2024," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 23.

The nine pretrial applicants, namely Iptu Sigit Sarwo, Ipda Fadillah, Brigpol Ma'ruf, Bripka Aryanto, Bripka Alex Chandra, Bripka Jaka Surya, Bripka Rahmadi, Bripka Junaidi Gunawan and Aiptu Wan Rahmat Kurniawan.

Meanwhile, the former Head of the Narcotics Unit of the Barelang Police, Kompol Satria Nanda, was not registered in the pretrial lawsuit. The defendants in the lawsuit are the National Police Chief and the Riau Islands Police Chief.

Welly said that the file for the pretrial application for nine former members of the Narcotics Unit of the Barelang Police had been processed, even the Head of the Batam District Court had appointed the judge who was leading the trial.

"The judge has been appointed, because there are nine requests, so there are nine files and nine judges too," said Welly.

The Batam District Court has also set a schedule for the inaugural trial of the pretrial petition with the agenda of hearing the petitioners' petition, namely on Wednesday (25/9) for the two applicants, and Monday (30/9) for the seven applicants.

"The trial will be divided next Wednesday, some will be Monday next week," he said.

The petition for pretrial for the ninth former member of the Narcotics Unit of the Barelang Police was both registered by his attorney Christopher Silitonga.

In the case tracing information system (SIPP) of the Batam District Court, it is stated that the classification of the ninth case of the respondent is whether or not the determination of the suspect is valid.

It is known that the ten former members of the Narcotics Unit of the Barelang Police have undergone an ethics trial related to abuse of authority to set aside 1 kg of methamphetamine evidence.

For violations committed by the Judge of the Police Code of Ethics Commission (KKEP) has imposed severe sanctions, namely dishonorable dismissal (PTDH). Regarding this decision, the ten members of the National Police are currently filing an appeal.

Meanwhile, the Riau Islands Police processed the criminal offenses committed by ten former members of the Barelang Police Narcotics Unit by naming them as suspects and detaining them. Five of them were entrusted to the Batam Class IIA Detention Center on Saturday (21/9).
