Rano Karno Promises To Go To City Hall By MRT Every Day If He Becomes Deputy Governor Of Jakarta

JAKARTA - The candidate for Deputy Governor of Jakarta Rano Karno promised to use the Jakarta Integrated Moda Raya (MRT) to go to DKI Jakarta City Hall every day if elected as Deputy Governor of Jakarta.

The man who is familiarly called Bang Doel lives in the Lebak Bulus area, South Jakarta. He admitted that he would ride the Jakarta MRT from Lebak Bulus Station and come down at the HI Roundabout Station.

According to Rano, the official vehicle that facilitates his position when winning the 2024 Pilkada will only pick him up at the nearest station from DKI Jakarta City Hall.

"Maybe if I become Deputy Governor later, I will take the MRT. My house is in Lebak Bulus, I take the MRT down at HI. Yes, maybe I'll just pick me up there," said Rano at Taman Ismail Marzuki, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 23.

Rano assessed that he needs to use public transportation as a way to reduce traffic density due to the use of private vehicles. Rano also wants to take advantage of this momentum to communicate with the community.

"So what? It's more delicious, I can hear the public and public transportation also don't get stuck," said Rano.

So will Rano also require ASN within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to use public transportation for office every day? He has not decided.

"We'll see later, because where did the goal come from? I'm from Lebak bulus MRT from the bus stop in Lebak bulus. If other ASN can come from anywhere. This means we will find a way to lighten the burden on the city," he explained.

Rano himself first tested the Jakarta MRT when he visited the Sudirman-Thamrin car free day (CFD) area on Sunday, September 9. In this activity, Rano and the prospective Governor Pramono also greeted the community.

"To be honest, this is the first time, because how do we want to ride our MRT in Serang, Banten, there is no MRT," said Rano at that time.

Rano also suggested that there be additional MRT carriages. Considering that on the day of work the enthusiasm of the community will be large, and there should be no congestion.

"The carriage may have to be added. That's probably what Mas Pram said, this is for this frequency, we really have to learn it," he said.
