Golkar 'Opens Door' If Fahri Hamzah Interested In Joining The Banyan Party

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the Golkar Party Ace Hasan Syadzily said that his party opened the door for the Deputy Chairperson of the Gelora Party, Fahri Hamzah, if he was interested in joining the party cadre bearing the banyan symbol.

"The Golkar Party is an open party and of course we are very open to anyone, including figures like Pak Fahri Hamzah. So because of that, if Pak Fahri Hamzah, who is currently in the Gelora Party, is interested in entering Golkar, of course we will accept it with open arms," said Ace, Monday, September 23.

Nevertheless, continued Ace, Golkar as a party certainly has a mechanism for carrying out regeneration. Namely, it must follow the process that has been determined in the party organization.

Ace also admitted that he had not heard the news that Fahri wanted to join Golkar directly. So far, he only knows about the chairman of Golkar Bahlil Lahadalia.

"So far, Pak Fahri and we have had frequent dialogue discussions, but of course, if Mr. Fahri is interested in entering the Golkar party, of course we welcome him well," he said.

Previously, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that the Deputy Chairperson of the Gelora Party, Fahri Hamzah, planned to join the Golkar Party.

During the inauguration of the smelter in NTB, Bahlil initially greeted the figures present, including President Joko Widodo. Bahlil also greeted the Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir and a number of local figures from NTB.

The chairman of Golkar then gave special attention to Fahri Hamzah who came from Sumbawa.

"Especially for national figures from NTB, Pak Fahri Hamzah," Bahlil said, quoted by the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube.

"Pak Fahri now plans to join the Golkar Party, we have already negotiated," said Bahlil.
