He said that since Wednesday night the Garut Regency Government had determined an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 located in Bandung as a disaster emergency response status.

According to him, a large area was affected by the earthquake, namely Pasirwangi District in the Garut mountain area.
"This (damage) spread across six sub-districts, although others there was an incident, the biggest one was in the Pasirwangi area," he said.
He added that regarding the level of damage to residents' houses and public facilities such as schools, it was still under assessment, the category of damage could not be ascertained.
