JAKARTA - The Vice President of the United States (US) who is running in the 2024 US Presidential Election, Kamala Harris, criticized her rival, Donald Trump, who spread the issue of Haitian immigrants eating other people's pet cats.
Harris said that Trump had played "hate politics" because he had made a hoax statement against Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, US.
"You [Trump] cannot be trusted to stand behind the seal of the president of the United States, engaging in hateful rhetoric that, as usual, is designed to divide us as a country," Harris said at a panel event for the National Association of Black Journalists in Philadelphia, US, Tuesday, September 17 local time, quoted from CBN News.
Trump accused Haitian immigrants of eating the pets of Springfield residents in the 2024 US Presidential Election debate last week. Trump's assertion about the hoax issue went viral and continues to circulate on social media. As a result, the City of Springfield must increase its security.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has instructed schools in Springfield to be guarded by the police to provide additional security after a number of bomb terrors.
