Bawaslu Process Reports Of 2 Village Heads Allegedly Involved In Practical Politics In Registration For The 2024 Batang Pilbup

The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) of Batang Regency, in Central Java (Central Java) suspects that two village heads (kades) carried out practical politics during the registration of prospective regents and deputy regents in the 2024 Batang Pilkada.

"Yes, that's right, there are public reports regarding alleged violations by village head members who participate in the registration activities of the prospective regent and prospective deputy regent candidates and we are currently studying the report further," said Chairman of the Batang Mabhrur Regency Election Supervisory Agency in Batang, Central Java, Wednesday, September 18, which was confiscated by Antara.

Although this report is still in its early stages, he said, the assessment and information collection process has been carried out by Bawaslu.

"This means that the report has been processed. However, according to the procedure, we must examine more deeply whether there are violations that occur," he said.

He revealed that the report from the community turned out to still have shortcomings in terms of formal requirements so that it could not be fully accepted by Bawaslu.

Nevertheless, he said, because the material requirements were met, in accordance with the provisions in the Bawaslu regulations, it would be used as initial information on alleged violations.

According to him, there are strong indications that the two village heads were involved in the violation, so an investigation is needed.

"We have not been able to reveal the identities of the two village heads or the sanctions that may be imposed. What is clear is that it is currently still under suspicion so we cannot confirm what the sanctions are," he said.
