Chronology Of The Case Of Persecution Of Elderly In Duren Sawit During The Transaction Of Buying And Selling Used Cars

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta Metro Police Satreskrim is still investigating a case of abuse that started with buying and selling cars at Pondok Kelapa, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta

Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the East Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Armunanto Hutahaean, explained that this incident began when the owner of the RAW (73) car and his son RPSPW made transactions with APS as car buyers.

"The car buyer (the victim of the beating) saw an advertisement for buying and selling cars on social media, then communicated with the contact number on the social media. After that, the car buyer was directed to the location to check directly the vehicle units sold along with the vehicle documents," he told reporters, Tuesday, September 17.

The buyer of the car with the initials APS finally met the owner of the car and checked the vehicle and the documents on Jalan Lembah Pinang Raya Kavling DKI RT 011/RW 009 Pondok Kelapa Village, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta. Then, APS transferred money amounting to Rp140 million.

However, the car owner did not receive the transfer money from the car buyer. The car buyer, who felt that he had transferred the money to the car owner, tried to leave with the car that had been paid.

"The car owner realized that he had not received the transfer money from the car buyer. The car owner also tried to stop the car buyer who was carrying his vehicle until it fell. The car owner shouted 'thief', so the residents came to gang up on the car buyer," he said.

The money transferred in the amount of Rp140 million has been entered into the account of another person who claims to be the son of the car owner. The car owner and car buyer reported each other to the East Jakarta Metro Police.

Car owners reported cases of confiscation, while buyers reported fraud and beatings because they had been ganged up by local residents.

"The buyer transfers to the wrong account claiming to be the son of the car owner," he explained.
