JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono has the opportunity to return to Acting after his term ends on October 17.

Meanwhile, several of his subordinates in the ranks of the DKI Provincial Government spontaneously allowed Heru to return to his position as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta. They are the Head of the Food, Maritime Affairs and Agriculture Security Office Suharini Eliawati and the Assistant for the Economy of the DKI Jakarta Secretariat Sri Haryati.

It is known that the DPRD has again proposed 3 names of candidates for the Acting Governor of DKI who will take office until the inauguration of the Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta is elected as a result of the 2024 Pilkada.

Based on the most voting results, Teguh Setyabudi, Akmal Malik, and Tomsi Tohir were named as 3 candidates for the DKI DPRD proposal.

Currently, Teguh Setyabudi is the Director General of Dukcapil of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Akmal Malik is the Acting Governor of East Kalimantan, and Tomsi Tohir is now Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Heru Budi had previously responded about his absence from the DPRD proposal. "Alhamdulillah, it was a pretty good and correct decision," said Heru when met in the National Monument area.

If he is no longer the Acting Governor of DKI, Heru admits that he can focus on carrying out his duties as Head of the Presidential Secretariat (Kasetpres) which he has held since 2017. Given, for the last two years, Heru has concurrently served as the Presidential Decree and Acting Governor of DKI.

"So I can concentrate as the Head of the Presidential Secretariat. It's been 2 years (the Acting Governor of DKI). By the rules. Thank you to the ranks of the DPRD, the chairman and vice chairman and all of them. Once again Alhamdulillah," explained Heru.

However, a member of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD, Jhonny Simanjuntak, assessed that he could propose Heru's name and Jokowi would choose to return to his position as Acting Governor of DKI. Given, the Ministry of Home Affairs will also propose three names of prospective Acting Candidates to Jokowi.

Heru has held the position of Acting Governor of DKI for the last two years. So that the Head of the Presidential Secretariat does not feel the need to adapt when continuing his leadership in Jakarta.

"For example, later the Ministry of Home Affairs or the President hopes that there will be a follow-up and there will be no more learning processes, then immediately take off, no more learning, there could be such views," explained Jhonny.
