Police Will Ticket Road Users Who Are Desperate To Break Through The Kemayoran Train Door

JAKARTA - Along with the many traffic accidents at the Kemayoran train crossing (KA) due to vehicles breaking through the crossing gate, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) Daop 1 Jakarta decided to give fines to pedestrians at the track gate in Jakarta.

The ticket sanctions will be applied on Jalan Perlantasan Langkat (JPL) No. 11 Km 2+595, the Rajawali-Kemayoran road plot, Central Jakarta on Thursday, September 19, tomorrow.

Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 1 Jakarta, Ixfan said, PT Kereta Api Indonesia Daop 1 Jakarta and the Central Jakarta Metro Police are still conducting socialization of the safety of railroad crossings to improve the safety of train travel, passengers, and the community in the Daop 1 Jakarta area.

Socialization with banners and safety attributes was carried out for 2 days from Tuesday, September 17 and Wednesday, September 18. Then on Thursday, September 19, strict action was taken in the form of a ticket.

"On September 19, traffic violations (trade crossings) will be dealt with by direct fines (by the Central Jakarta Police Traffic Unit)," said Ixfan when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, September 17.

Ixfan admitted that his party in 2023 had carried out 45 safety socializations, until September 2024 there had been 48 socializations.

"Throughout 2024, there were 142 incidents between road users and trains. 38 of them involved vehicles, and 104 involved pedestrians on the train line," he said.

Ixfan said the importance of awareness of motorists to stop and ensure security before crossing the railroad tracks.

"Violating the rules at level crossings can be subject to criminal sanctions in accordance with Law no. 23 of 2007 concerning Railways and Law no. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation," he said.
