Dasco Calls The Minister's Regulation From Gerindra In The Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet A Little

JAKARTA - The daily chairman of the Gerindra Party's Central Leadership Council (DPP), Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, revealed that his party will only get a small quota of ministers for the Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka government. Dasco said the number of ministerial seats for the Prabowo-Gibran government is currently still in the maturation stage.

"Yes, just a little bit from Gerindra," said Dasco when met in the Plataran City Forest, Central Jakarta, Monday, September 16.

Dasco claims the names of ministerial candidates from the Gerindra Party already exist. However, he is not willing to reveal who will fill the position.

"From Gerindra, there are names, but I'm sorry it can't be published right now," he added.

Dasco emphasized that discussions regarding ministers are still dynamic, and the final decision regarding the composition of the cabinet is Prabowo Subianto's prerogative as president-elect.

"I don't know the latest progress yet because this is the prerogative of the elected President. Currently, he is still focused on completing the nomenclature, number of ministries, and criteria for ministerial candidates who will fill the upcoming cabinet," explained Dasco.

Previously, Dasco confirmed that the number of ministries in the Prabowo-Gibran government was still uncertain. His party is still conducting simulations regarding the number and task of the ministry to ensure the efficiency and optimization of tasks according to campaign promises.

"There are those who say the number is 44, some say 42 or 40. We are still doing simulations to ensure the best," he said.

Dasco added that the final decision regarding the composition of the ministerial ministries and names would be announced about a week or five days before the inauguration scheduled for October 20, 2024. To date, it has not been confirmed whether there will be a breakdown of the old ministry or the addition of a new ministry.

"The addition or separation of ministries is still in the simulation process, so we cannot publish it now. This process is still being discussed so that the results are ripe," he explained.

In addition, Dasco has not been able to reveal the composition of ministers who will come from political parties or non-party parties. He said the Prabowo-Gibran government would focus on finding the right professional figure to fill the ministerial position.

"We want to ensure that campaign promises are fulfilled by placing the right people, both from professionals and from political parties. However, it seems that professionals will be more dominant," he concluded.
