Rano Karno Promises To Fix JIS: Stadium Is Good But Transportation Infrastructure Hasn't Been Completed

JAKARTA - The candidate for deputy governor in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada Rano Karno (Bang Doel) promised to reform a number of problems at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), North Jakarta, such as access to mobility and the number of parking bags.

"The stadium is good but the transportation infrastructure has not been completed. Even though we have seen it. The LRT pillars already exist," said Rano as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, September 16.

JIS, which is often used as a place for Bruno Mars' last music concert, said he, traffic density occurred due to the accumulation of private vehicles for spectators to the concert location.

He promised to solve the problem if he was elected to lead Jakarta with Pramono Anung.

"Of course, involving the central government, in this case the Ministry of PUPR. It really needs acceleration. So don't forget. The LRT going to JIS is a project from PUPR. There must be harmonization with the central government," he explained.

In addition, Bang Doel emphasized the importance of paying attention and supporting Persija Jakarta.

He also agreed that Persija be based at the JIS Stadium.

"I will certainly pay attention to Persija, it is mandatory, otherwise, why be Deputy Governor of DKI," he said.

Previously, the General Elections Commission (KPU) stated that the three candidates for the governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta had met the administrative requirements to run in the 2024 Pilkada.

The three parentslon are Pramono Anung-Rano Karno (Pram-Doel), Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (Rido) and Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana (Dharma-Kun).
