Leading The Andika-Hendi Teamses, Bambang Pacul's Second Test In Central Java

JAKARTA A political observer from Undip, Teguh Yuwono, assessed that the appointment of Bambang Wuryanto or Bambang Pacul as the Head of the Winning Team for the Andika Perkasa-Hendrar Prihadi pair in the 2024 Central Java gubernatorial election seemed to be the second test for the chairman of the Central Java PDI-P DPD.

According to him, the first test was of course during the 2024 presidential election, where the results showed that the Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD pair lost to Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka in Central Java, who had been known as the bull cage.

Therefore, Bambang Pacul's appointment in the Central Java gubernatorial election also aims to re-solidize the PDI-P after the defeat in the 2024 presidential election. The party's solidarity is the first capital to win the election. So I think Bambang Pacul's placement is to consolidate the internal PDIP," said Teguh, Monday, September 16, 2024.

In addition, Bambang Pacul's figure who is considered an influential figure can influence the public or voters in the Central Java region, especially the PDI-P mass base. The reason is, until now there is no candidate pair that is dominant from the two contestants in the Central Java gubernatorial election, namely Ahmad Luthfi-Taj Yasin and Andika-Hendi.

Therefore, Teguh assessed that the course of the 2024 Central Java gubernatorial election would test two things. First, the combination of major political parties against one political party that carries its own candidate, and tests Central Java which has been considered the basis of PDIP.

"In Central Java, I think this is an inseparable part of our political culture patterns that Central Java has been a red base, that Central Java has been a bull cage, I think this hypothesis will be tested properly, whether this happened or not, whether the community was affected or not. And whether the elite's political views are the same as the political views of society," he explained.
