Arsjad Rasjid Asks The Government To Help Solve The Dualism Of The Indonesian Chamber Of Commerce And Industry

Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Arsjad Rasjid asked the government for assistance as supervisors to participate in resolving the dynamics that occurred in the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organization in accordance with Law No. 1 of 1987 and Presidential Decree (Keppres) No. 18 of 2022.

For information, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry was hit by dualism after the 2024 Kadin Extraordinary National Conference (Munaslub) which appointed Anindya Bakrie as General Chair which was held at St Regis, on Saturday, September 14, 2024.

"We ask the government to intervene and resolve (this issue) because we are part of the government's strategic partner," Arsjad told reporters at the JS Luwansa Hotel, Jakarta, Sunday, September 15.

According to Asrjad, the presence and involvement of the government is very important in helping to solve the dynamics that occurred in the organization because the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a strategic partner of the state and has a strong legal basis in the law and Presidential Decree (Keppres).

Arsjad explained, during his leadership period there was never a conflict of interest in certain groups that interfered with the interests of businessmen and the interests of the government.

Therefore, Arsjad emphasized the presence of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support policies from the government in encouraging national economic growth.

"We are here to support (the elected president), we also see the state of the government constituents today from the Jokowi administration to Prabowo. That is important," he said.

According to Arsjad, even though there is an internal conflict, Kadin will not change the work programs that have been designed so that the performance of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the future will continue.

Therefore, Arsjad said that he would continue to maintain the integrity of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry by maintaining communication between regions.

"We say we have to be solid. We have to do this dynamic as a challenge. Back again we have to focus on what we are doing," he said.

Arsjad said that the illegal 2024 Kadin Munaslub would soon be reported and would be followed up in accordance with applicable regulations.

"There is an incident that occurred. We will report this illegal Munaslub. We must stand in the legal context of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Law," he said.
