Yemeni missile triggers airstrike sirens in central Israel, residents scatter

JAKARTA - The Israeli military said the missiles fired from Yemen hit an uninhabited central Israel on Sunday 15 September.

The attack did not cause any luk-luka victims.

The missile fired a siren airstrike that sounded in Tel Aviv and throughout central Israel. Israelis are looking for shelter.

After a siren that sounded for a while in central Israel, a surface-to-surface missile was identified as crossing into central Israel from the east and falling in an open area. No injuries were reported, "said the Israeli military, followed by AFP, Sunday 15 September.

A loud explosion was also heard in the region. The Israeli military claims the explosion came from an interceptor of the missile that had been launched.

The Israeli military added its protection guidelines against Israelis were unchanged.

In July, Iran-backed Houthi in Yemen fired a long-range drone into Tel Aviv, killing one person and injuring four others.

In response, Israel carried out a massive airstrike against a Houthi military target near the port of Hodeidah in Yemen, killing at least three people and injuring 87 people.
