JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD has proposed three candidates for the Governor of DKI Jakarta who will take office until the inauguration of the Governor-Deputy Governor of DKI is elected as a result of the 2024 Pilkada.

However, the Acting Governor of DKI Heru Budi Hartono was not included in the proposal resulting from the most voting of the DKI DPRD factions. Only the PDIP faction proposed Heru as one of the names of the candidates.

The three names proposed by the DPRD are Teguh Setyabudi, Tomsi Tohir, and Akmal Malik. Responding to this, a member of the PDIP faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Jhonny Simanjuntak, assessed that there was a possibility that the proposed name of the candidate for the Acting Governor of DKI from the DPRD would not be chosen.

"The rule being played is that the DPRD only proposes. So, the proposal can be accepted, it can also not be accepted. Because that is the rule," said Jhonny at the DKI Jakarta DPRD building, Friday, September 13.

AJhonny said the three names would still be submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) who would also propose three names. The proposal from the DPRD and the Ministry of Home Affairs will later be submitted to President Jokowi to choose one of the names as the new Acting Governor of DKI.

The Ministry of Home Affairs, continued Jhony, could have proposed the name Heru and Jokowi's choice to return to the position of Acting Governor of DKI which was only a few months before the inauguration of the Governor-Deputy Governor-Deputy Governor of DKI was elected as a result of the 2024 Pilkada.

Heru has held the position of Acting Governor of DKI for the last two years, so that the Head of the Presidential Secretariat does not feel the need to adapt when continuing his leadership in Jakarta.

"For example, later the Ministry of Home Affairs or the President hopes that there will be a follow-up and there will be no more learning processes, then immediately take off, no more learning, there could be such views," explained Jhonny.

At today's meeting, the party factions who are members of KIM Plus compactly proposed the names Teguh Setyabudi, Tomsi Tohir, and Akmal Malik as candidates for Acting Governor of DKI.

Meanwhile, only PDIP proposed the name Heru Budi Hartono to return to office. The other two names proposed by PDIP are DKI Regional Secretary Joko Agus Setyono and DKI Deputy Governor Marullah Matalli. However, Heru, Joko, and Marullah were not chosen as the 3 names proposed by the DPRD because of the small voting results.
