China's Defense Minister Affirms Negotiations The Only Solution To End Israel's Attack On Gaza

JAKARTA - Chinese Defense Minister (Menhan) Dong Jun emphasized that negotiations were the only way to end Israel's attack on Gaza. Including the Russian conflict with Ukraine.

Dong Jun conveyed this during his opening speech to world military officials in Beijing.

Dozens of delegates in Beijing attended the Xiangshan Forum, an event that was touted as China's response to the annual Shangri-La meeting in Singapore.

"To resolve issues of concern such as the crisis in Ukraine and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, promoting peace and negotiations is the only way out," he said, Friday, September 13, quoted by AFP.

According to Chinese state media, as many as 500 representatives from 90 countries and organizations are scheduled to attend the Xiangshan Forum which lasts for three days.

"There are no winners in the war and conflict, and confrontation will result in nothing," he said.

"The more difficult the conflict, the more we cannot leave dialogue and consultation. The end of any conflict is reconciliation," continued Dong.

In his speech, Dong also asked representatives of the countries and organizations present to promote peaceful development and an inclusive government.

Following the opening, top-level military representatives from Russia, Pakistan, Singapore, Iran, Germany, and other countries are scheduled to gather on a round table.

They will discuss the relationship between the United States-China, security in Europe and Asia, as well as the challenge of defense in the multipolar world.
