From Kutilang, Triggered To Jalak Kebo, Iriana Jokowi Releases 300 Birds At IKN

JAKARTA - First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo (Jokowi) together released around 300 birds to fish in Embung MBH, the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan (Kaltim), Friday, September 13.

Based on a press release from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat via Antara, Iriana Jokowi participated in this event with members of the Solidarity Action Organization of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet Era (OASE KIM).

The hundreds of birds released consisted of lichens (pycnonotus aurigasters), tekukur (spilopelia chinensis), twisted (pycnonotus goiavier) and jatak kebo (acridotheres javanica).

After that, Iriana Jokowi and OASE KIM members released 350 red tilapia seeds.

The release of birds and fish seeds in the reservoir is expected to maintain the natural ecosystem in the IKN area so that it remains well maintained.

In addition, Mrs. Iriana also planted Pule (alstonia Scholaris) trees on the reservoir side to support environmental conservation efforts and improve ecosystem conditions around the reservoir.

Present as a guide for the review were the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono. Basuki said the reservoir was beneficial for water conservation in the IKN area.

"This capacity is 66 thousand cubic meters with a depth of 5-6 meters, the point is for water conservation so this is all the rainwater around here, this is all accommodated in the reservoirs," said Basuki.
