JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta DPRD held a joint leadership meeting (rapimgab) to submit a proposal for the names of the Governor of DKI Jakarta after Heru Budi Hartono's term ends on October 17.

The meeting was chaired by the interim chairman of the DKI DPRD, Achmad Yani and attended by representatives of 9 factions, namely PKS, PDIP, Gerindra, Golkar, PKB-PPP, PAN, Democrat-Perindo, PSI, and NasDem. Each faction proposes 3 names of ASN echelon I for voting.

"I ask each faction to name names. After that, I will hand over (the names proposed to the DPRD leadership)," said Achmad Yani at the DKI Jakarta DPRD Building, Friday, September 13.

As a result, the three most proposed names became candidates for the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta, namely Teguh Setyabudi with 8 factions proposing, Tomsi Tohir with 7 proposals, and Akmal Malik with 7 proposals.

Currently, Teguh Setyabudi is the Director General of Dukcapil of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri), Akmal Malik is the Acting Governor of East Kalimantan, and Tomsi Tohir is now Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The parties that compactly proposed the 3 names were parties that joined the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Plus.

Unexpectedly, Heru Budi, who has served as Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta for almost two years, was only proposed by one faction, namely PDIP. Apart from Heru, PDIP also proposed the Secretary of DKI Joko Agus Setyono and Deputy Governor of DKI Marullah Matalli.

"All of them have agreed, have you? ask Yani in the meeting.

"Agreed," replied the faction representative.

Furthermore, the three names will be submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs to be selected, one of them by President Jokowi. One name chosen will replace Heru Budi as Acting Governor of DKI until the inauguration of the Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta is selected as a result of the 2024 Pilkada.
