Ahead Of The Inauguration, Cak Imin Secretly Replaces 2 PKB DPR Members

JAKATA - The National Awakening Party (PKB) is reportedly secretly replacing two elected legislative candidates (caleg) of the DPR ahead of the inauguration.

Member of the House of Representatives elected by the National Awakening Party as well as the Personal Secretary of the General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board Yahya Cholil Staquf, Achmad Ghufron Sirodj, admitted that he was ready to take the party's internal mechanism after it was rumored that he was replaced as a member of the DPR 2024-2029 and dismissed as a cadre.

"I also received news from the media that PKB had written to the General Elections Commission to change my name. However, until now, I have not received an official letter from the party regarding the dismissal," he said in a statement received in Jakarta, as quoted from ANTARA, Thursday, September 13.

Therefore, he admitted to visiting the office of the PKB Central Management Board on Thursday morning to clarify the news of the change of board members and dismissal as party cadres.

"This concerns the voice of the people who have voted. In fact, many of my constituent voters in the East Java IV electoral district have been restless, and asked about the clarity of the news," he said.

However, he said that none of the PKB DPP administrators could be met by him, so he said he would take the complaint mechanism to the party court or the PKB Tahkim Council.

Apart from Achmad Ghufron Sirodj, a member of the DPR elected PKB for the East Java II electoral district, Irsyad Yusuf, questioned his status after receiving the news of the replacement as a member of the council for the period 2024-2029.

"In our understanding, in our election which adheres to an open proportional system, the voice of the people must be respected," said Irsyad, who is the younger brother of the Secretary-General of PBNU and Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf.
