Central Jakarta City Government Intensifies Red Bottom Planting At 69 Regional Points

The Central Jakarta City Government is intensifying the planting of shallots simultaneously at 69 points in the Central Jakarta area as an effort to suppress inflation ahead of Christmas and New Year.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Dhany Sukma said, the movement to grow onions is expected to contribute to suppress inflation.

"We hope to plant shallots so that in the next 3 months before Christmas and New Year we can harvest," said Dhany at the Central Jakarta City Government, Thursday, September 12.

Dhany also appealed to people in Central Jakarta to take advantage of limited yard land for productive activities by planting plants for consumption and economic value.

"This is also not only consumed, but on a large scale it can contribute to suppressing inflation," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Central Jakarta City TP-PKK Ucu Jamilah added that the planting of onions was carried out simultaneously at 69 points throughout Central Jakarta online.

"Alhamdulillah, today there are 69 points spread across urban villages, dasawisma groups, and RPTRA throughout Central Jakarta through online carrying out shallot planting activities. Hopefully today we will plant it, in the next 3 months it can be harvested together," he added.

Onion planting activities carried out simultaneously by the Central Jakarta TP-PKK are expected to reduce the inflation rate in Jakarta, especially the price of chilies and onions which often soars.
