JAKARTA - Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas denied that he was absent from attending the 2024 DPR RI Special Committee Meeting (Pansus) because so far he had not received a summons. So he did not know the reasons related to the emergence of statements that he was absent twice from the Hajj Anggat Special Committee agenda. He also wanted to know the truth about the summons. "Until I came to meet these friends, I have never received the summons. You can check it at the secretariat, the secretary general of the DPR, you can check it," said Yaqut at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, September 11. In addition, he said that the absence of a summons was not the reason he had not attended the Hajj Anggat Special Committee agenda. However, before attending the Special Committee meeting, he will first check his agenda as a minister. Because, according to him, the agenda of the Minister of Religion is quite a lot, including educational tasks to religious duties. "The task of halal certification is very limited in time, the task of education is also very heavy, of course we will adjust it," he said. However, he ensured that the government would explain in detail the issue of Hajj, not only to the Special Committee but to the entire community. "We at the Ministry of Religion, this government also don't want anyone to mess with the Hajj, if there is my staff, there is an ASN device where I am involved, let's do it together," he said.

Earlier on Tuesday (11/9), Member of the Special Committee for Hajj Angkat DPR RI Marwan Ja'far accused Yaqut of being absent twice from the Hajj Special Committee agenda. He assessed that Yaqut was delaying his time because the Special Committee would end at the end of September 2024.
