For information, Kapuk Village has an area of 562.6 hectares with a population of 175 thousand people or 55,258 families. Governor's Decree (Kepgub) Number 3 of 2004 concerning Guidelines for the Establishment of Expansion, Elimination and Transportation of the City/Regency of Administration, Districts and Sub-districts in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta states that the number of residents in a kelurahan can be raised if more than 40,000 people.

In its progress, the Decree (SK) of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 853 of 2023 dated December 6 has formed a regional development coordination team chaired by the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of DKI Jakarta. However, until now the expansion has not been realized.
