Gus Ipul: I Ask The President To Prepare A Policy Of The Ministry Of Social Affairs During The Transition To The Prabowo Gibran Government

JAKARTA - Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos) Syaifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) is preparing a policy transition at the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) as part of the change to the new government.

Syaifullah in his statement at the State Palace in Jakarta, said he wanted to focus on adjusting and structuring policy strategies to ensure the smooth running of social programs throughout Indonesia.

"Yes, surely the President has a purpose that I don't think there is anything else, including trying to organize the transition period," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 11.

Syaifullah said the relatively short duration of work as Social Minister would be focused on a number of President Jokowi's directives that had not been completed by precursor officials.

"You try to help from the remaining time, what is in accordance with the President's direction. Of course, we also talk about the transition period, especially for the Ministry of Social Affairs what will be done in 2025," he said.

When asked about the opportunity to expand social assistance for the middle class, he said he would discuss this with the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy.

"Not yet, not yet there. I will coordinate with Mr. Muhadjir," he said.

Syaifullah admitted that it would still take a maximum of two days to deliver an official statement regarding the Ministry of Social's program which will be implemented in the near future.

"After that, I will make a statement about what we will do in the future in the remaining time," he said.
