JAKARTA - The police appealed to spectators of the continued Group C match of the Third Round of the 2026 World Cup Qualification in the Asian Zone at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) Jakarta to maintain facilities by not committing anarchic actions.
"We hope that the audience, including supporters, remain polite and do not act anarchically and do not destroy public facilities," said Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Police Susatyo Purnomo Condro Tuesday, September 10.
In addition, Susatyo appealed to spectators not to carry firecrackers, flares, sharp weapons, and alcoholic beverages.
"All parties must maintain security and order at the location of the match," said Susatyo.
Officers will take firm action against spectators who carry firecrackers, flares like what happened in the previous match at GBK.
"Those involved in security should carry out humane services. Services are given to our brothers and sisters who will watch football matches. No one carries firearms in security," Susatyo advised.
The police deployed 2,325 joint personnel to secure the match at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) Jakarta on Tuesday night.
The joint personnel involved came from the Metro Jaya Police, Central Jakarta Metro Police, TNI and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.
"Today we have deployed 2,325 joint personnel to secure the Indonesian vs Australia football match at GBK Jakarta," said Susatyo.
Personnel were deployed at a number of points in the GBK area starting from the entrance, where the match took place, to around GBK Senayan.
Regarding the traffic situation, Susatyo said that the engineering was carried out situationally depending on conditions in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta.
"We only appeal to road users who have no interest in avoiding areas around GBK and looking for alternative routes so that they are not trapped in traffic congestion," said Susatyo.
