JAKARTA - The National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) has confirmed that all passengers and crew of the Trigana Air PK YSP ATR 42-500 who slipped when they were about to take off at Stevanus Rumbewas Airport, Kamanap, Yapen Islands, Papua, have been rushed to the hospital (RS).
Head of Basarnas Kusworo said the Trigana Air plane carried 41 adult passengers, one baby and six crew members who were planned to fly to Jayapura.
"They have been evacuated to the Serui Regional General Hospital for medical treatment due to injuries and trauma experienced during the incident," he said in Jakarta, Antara, Monday, September 9.
The personnel of the Biak Kundori SAR Office at the scene confirmed that all passengers were safe, and that there were no casualties in the incident.
Previously, Deputy Area Manager Trigana Air Irwan Rochendi said that the slip of one of the Trigana PK airlines YSP ATR 42-500 at Kamanap Airport occurred on Monday, at 08.35 WIT.
The airline authorities said the aircraft's condition was currently heavily damaged, with total cargo or baggage when it was about to fly 270 kilograms and a BF of 2,000 kilograms.
The cause of the plane's slip is still under further inspection. However, the Directorate of Safety, Securty and Quality (SSQ) Trigana Air confirmed that the aircraft was in good condition before taking off.
