Chinese, Russian And Cuban Presidents Congratulate The 76th Anniversary Of The DPRK To Kim Jong-un

JAKARTA - Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel wish Kim Jong-un the 76th birthday of the founding of the Democratic People's Republic of North Korea (DPRK).

The People's Democratic Republic of North Korea (DPRK) was founded on September 9, 1948 by Kim Il-sung, setting the date as the country's founding day.

"I believe that a comprehensive strategic partnership between Russia and the RDK will be strengthened in a planned manner thanks to our joint efforts," President Putin said in a speech to Leader Kim.

Meanwhile, President Xi called for deeper communication and strategic cooperation with North Korea in his message.

In the message, President Xi said China would continue to develop traditional relations with North Korea from a strategic and long-term perspective, marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries this year.

"We will deepen strategic communication and strengthen cooperation with North Korea in a bid to further consolidate and develop friendly relations between the two," President Xi said, citing The Korea Times from KCNA.

Meanwhile, Cuban President Diaz-Canel also sent a message to Leader Kim, expressing his willingness to continue to strengthen close solidarity with Pyongyang.

South Korea and Cuba established diplomatic relations in February, a surprising move that may be a blow to Pyongyang, who has long boasted of brotherhood relations with the Caribbean nation.

"We really appreciate our relationship with the DPRK which is based on brotherhood and historical foundations," said President Diaz-Calel.

Prime Minister Kim Tok-hun and other important officials visited the Kumsusan Sun Palace on Sunday, where the bodies of the current leader's father, Kim Jong-il, and grandfather Kim Il-sung are buried.

North Korea also held outdoor gatherings and a night party in Pyongyang on Sunday to commemorate the anniversary, KCNA said.

The event brought together "labor innovators and meritorious people from various fields" across the country as well as veteran cadres, he said.

Among the attendees was also a guest delegation from a Korean association living in Japan.

It is known, North Korea usually holds military parades on every commemoration of the fifth or tenth major holiday.

Last year, North Korea held a paramilitary parade centered around its reserve forces to commemorate the country's 75th anniversary. In an extraordinary warning, the country held a civilian-paramilitary parade on September 9, 2021, on its 73rd anniversary.
