KPU Will Limit 2024 Pilkada Campaign Funds

The General Election Commission (KPU) of the Republic of Indonesia will limit the issue of campaign funds for the 2024 Regional Head Election (Pilkada). The value is determined based on the number of voters and the area of the campaign area.

"It is very varied depending on the number of voters and the area of the campaign, and later the KPU will determine it in the regions," said KPU RI Commissioner Idham Kholik to reporters, Saturday, September 7.

In determining the campaign funding limit, the Indonesian KPU asked the regional KPU to discuss in detail with the candidate pair team and Bawaslu.

Of course, even those limitations and campaigns must follow the principles of effective, efficient, transparent and public accountability.

"The rules regarding limiting KPU campaign funds will implement the policy and later we ask the KPU in the regions to discuss this with the pair of candidates and Bawaslu, which is clear that they must follow the principles of effective, efficient, open or transparent and public accountability," he said.

Although he did not provide details about the maximum campaign funds issued by each candidate pair, Idham stated that the value would be different between the provincial and district/city levels.

"Variatively, the limitation of provincial-level campaign funds is definitely different from the City Regency level," said Idham.
