Densus 88 Arrests Suspected Terrorist In Bekasi, Perpetrator Owns Bomb And Explosive Raw Materials

JAKARTA - Densus 88 Anti-terror has arrested a suspected terrorist in Sukasari Village, Serang Baru District, Bekasi Regency. The suspected terrorist is suspected of storing explosives.

"This morning at around 9.30 a.m. local time, at this location, Sukasari Village, one person has been secured who is suspected of having the bomb and raw materials for explosives", said the Head of Regional Police (Metro Jaya) Inspector, General Fadil Imran to reporters, Monday, March 29.

However, Fadil was reluctant to convey in full regarding the arrest of this suspected terrorist. Including the question of whether there is a connection with the suicide bombing at the Cathedral Church, Makassar, South Sulawesi.

Later, all matters relating to the arrest of a suspected terrorist, including the raids on the residence of the suspected terrorist in East Jakarta, will be conveyed by the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

"Later in the afternoon, the Chief of Police at Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) will release a complete disclosure of this network", he said.

"Whether it has any connection with the bomb in Makassar or not, it will be explained at Polda Metro Jaya", he continued.

For now, Inspector General Fadil said that his party was only securing the location of the arrest. This includes sterilizing nearby locations if evidence of explosives will be destroyed.

"What we are doing now is how to sterilize it and later when the disposal is carried out, the evacuation will be carried out in accordance with the results of the assessment of the Police", he said.

Polda Metro Jaya raided the residence of the suspected terrorist who was at Raya Condet number 1, RT 005 RW 003, Bale Kambang Village, Kramat Jati District, East Jakarta, on Monday, March 29.

Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Yusri Yunus confirmed the raid. "Yes, that's right, we are at the location", said Yusri.
