3 Ukrainian Ministers Resign Amid Fighting Against Russia

JAKARTA - The Ukrainian government's minister who oversaw domestic weapons production during the war with Russia submitted his resignation.

Reported by Reuters on Tuesday, September 3, the minister withdrew along with the minister of justice and the minister of the environment, a parliamentary spokesman said.

The ministers are Minister of Strategic Industry Oleksandr Kamyshin, Minister of Justice Denys Maliuska, and Minister of Environment Ruslan Strilets.

A parliamentary spokesman said their resignation request would soon be discussed by lawmakers.

The resignation of the three ministers took place amid the Ukraine-Russia war. Most recently, Russian missile attacks killed 41 people and injured more than 180 others in the city of Poltava, Ukraine.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said a series of Russian troops hit the city on Tuesday, September 3, with two ballistic missiles, destroying the Institute of Communications building.

Previously, Russia launched attacks on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and a number of areas. These attacks sparked fires and damaged houses and infrastructure.
