A Gang Of Penculikan Related To Debt Of IDR 370 Million In East Aceh Arrested

BANDA ACEH - East Aceh Resort Police (Polres) personnel handled the kidnapping case of a Madat resident, East Aceh Regency, related to a debt of IDR 370 million with five suspected perpetrators.

Head of the East Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Iptu Adi Wahyu Nurhidayat, said the five suspected perpetrators had the initials MA (45), TA (48), MU (48), RI (42) and RA (45). The five are residents of East Aceh.

"Other perpetrators MR and SS are still being searched. The five perpetrators were arrested at their respective homes on Friday (23/8)," said Adi Wahyu Nurhidayat as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 2.

The kidnapping took place in Lueng Sa Village, Madat District, East Aceh Regency, Sunday (18/8) at around 13.30 WIB. The kidnapping began at that time the victim with the initials DF (32) sat in a coffee shop.

Suddenly, the two suspected perpetrators approached the victim and forced him to follow him. At the time of the incident, several witnesses said that a perpetrator was carrying a short-barreled firearm.

"Apart from the two people, beside the car used by the perpetrators, three other people were waiting for the victim to be put into the car. After the victim got into the car, the perpetrators immediately left," he said.

The witness informed the victim's wife about the incident. Hearing the news that her husband was kidnapped by someone, the victim's wife informed the local village apparatus and reported it to the Madat Police.

From the report, the Madat Police coordinated with the East Aceh Police Criminal Investigation Unit. Furthermore, the police formed a team for investigation.

From the results of the investigation in the field, the team identified the identities of the alleged perpetrators and arrested them. Meanwhile, the victim was found safe and returned to his family.

Adi Wahyu Nurhidayat said that from the results of the examination, the alleged perpetrators admitted that they kidnapped the victim on the orders of MR, because the victim had a debt to MR of Rp370 million.

"The perpetrators are suspected of violating Article 328 of Article 333 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 368 Paragraph (1) in conjunction with Article 56 and Article 480 Paragraph (2) of the Criminal Code with a penalty of 12 years in prison," said Adi Wahyu Nurhidayat.
