Minister Of Health: PPDS Bullying Has Been For Tens Of Years, It's Too Much

DENPASAR - Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that the bullying experienced by Aulia Risma Lestari, a student of the Diponegoro University (Undip) Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS) Semarang was due to a lack of commitment from stakeholders in solving problems.

Minister of Health Budi said that internal campus bullying has been going on for decades and has not been evaluated and addressed by internal campuses.

During his tenure, he has asked three times for internal campus bullying to be resolved so as not to affect the psychological development of prospective doctors at the campus.

"This bullying has not been completed in full for decades, because it is a lack of commitment from the takeholder. Since taking office for the third time, I have requested that this be eliminated," said Minister of Health Budi, Monday, September 2.

He denied the assumption that bullying was one aspect to form a strong specialist.

The Minister of Health gave an example of TNI-Polri education as well as pilots forged with hard training to be tough, not by such bullying. Therefore, he said, such heretical assumptions were eliminated so as not to become a habit in the world of education.

"It is not true that the bullying was used as an excuse to create strong forces," said the Minister of Health.

The Minister of Health assessed that the bullying that befell Aulia Risma Lestari had gone too far because it was suspected of harassing many aspects, both psychologically, sexually, and even extortion, resulting in Aulia committing suicide.

"This bullying has gone too far, physically and mentally bullied, sexual harassment is also requested," said the Minister of Health.

This is further exacerbated by the incident of Aulia's father, Moh Fakhruri, who also died.

Previously, a PPDS student from the Faculty of Medicine (FK) Undip Semarang, Aulia Risma Lestari, died, allegedly committing suicide at a boarding house on Lempongsari Street, Semarang City, Central Java.

The victim's death, which was found on Monday (12/8), is suspected to be related to bullying where he studied, so it is suspected that he injected excessive drugs into his body.
