Whirlwind Damages 46 Houses In Indramayu

JAKARTA - A tornado damaged more than 46 houses in Indramayu Regency, West Java. Not a few residents were displaced by the disaster.

"There are 46 housing units damaged by the tornado," said Acting Secretary of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Indramayu Caya Regency, Sunday, March 28.

He said the whirlwind disaster caused 46 housing units to be damaged, with details of five houses and one madrasa being severely damaged, 10 units were moderately damaged and the rest were lightly damaged.

According to him, the whirlwind disaster occurred on Saturday (27/3) around 17.00 WIB, in Sukasari Block, Cikawaung Village, Terisi District, Indramayu Regency.

Currently, Caya continued, his party is still cleaning up the remaining ruins of houses belonging to residents that were swept away by a tornado.

"We have also distributed aid for tornado victims," he said.

He ensured that in the tornado disaster there were no casualties and that all residents whose houses collapsed had now fled to the homes of their closest relatives.

"There were no casualties or injuries in the accident, residents whose houses collapsed fled to their relatives," said Caya.
