1,784 Joint Alert Personnel Escort Ojol Demo And Couriers In Jakarta

A total of 1,784 joint personnel were deployed in a demonstration security scheme organized by online motorcycle taxi drivers and couriers throughout Jabodetabek.

It is known that the demonstration will be held at several points, one of which is the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta.

"The involvement of personnel to secure the demonstration was 1,784 personnel," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Ary Syam Indradi to VOI, Thursday, August 29.

Thousands of personnel were deployed with details of 1,412 from the Task Force and 372 personnel from the Task Force.

They will be alerted at 9 points where demonstrations will be held, starting from the Monas Cross, Gojek office, to the State Palace.

"(The placement of personnel) of the Monas 435 Cross, the Gojek 185 personnel office, in front of the State Palace 329 personnel, the Ministry of SOEs 370 personnel," he said.

"The Ministry of Communication and Information is 210 personnel, the DPR/MPR Building is 70 personnel, the Indonesian Attorney General's Office 80 personnel, Baharkam Polri 55 personnel, and the KPK RI 80 personnel," continued Ade.

Meanwhile, regarding the traffic flow engineering scheme related to the demonstration, Ade said that it would only be implemented if necessary.

Later, members of the Traffic Directorate will decide regarding the implementation of traffic flow engineering.

"If the number of masses and escalation increases, there will be road closures. However, if the number of masses is not large, the traffic will be normal as usual," said Ade.

Meanwhile, as many as 1,000 online motorcycle taxi drivers held a demonstration on Thursday, August 29. The action participants, who come from the online motorcycle taxi community (ojol) and couriers throughout Jabodetabek, will start from the Merdeka Palace, the Gojek office around the Petojo area, Central Jakarta and Grab offices around Cilandak, South Jakarta.

The action participants call themselves the Two-wheeled Transportation Drivers Association of the Indonesian Guard National Two National Guard.

Chairman of the Indonesian Guard Igun Wicaksono said the action would start at 12.00 WIB. One of his demands is that the government, which is deemed unable to do much to fulfill the sense of justice and welfare of existing application company partners.

This can be seen from the legal status of online motorcycle taxis that are still illegal without legal standing in the form of laws.

The crowd demanded a clear legal standing for ojol drivers so that the company does not do what it wants to ojol partners and couriers.

"Without any solution from the platform and without being given strict sanctions by the government, this is what causes various protest movements from partners," he stressed.
