Spread Videos And Photos Of Makassar Explosion Could Support Terrorism

JAKARTA - The Mayor of Makassar Danny Pomanto asked the public to refrain. Do not let anyone spread videos or photos related to the explosion around the Makassar Cathedral Church.

In a terrorist act, spreading fear is the main goal. Therefore, spreading content carelessly is not only useless but also supports the agenda of terrorism.

"Don't post photos or videos that discourage us," said Pomanto, in an interview with Kompas TV, Sunday, March 28.

Pomanto stated that the authority immediately worked. The Makassar City Government itself immediately shares the role with the police.

The police, including the Forensic Lab team, have been deployed. Meanwhile, Pomanto and the administrators of the Makassar Cathedral Church, including a number of priests, are coordinating to restore the psychological situation of Catholics in Makassar.

"I saw that the Head of Police immediately took the lead, complete with the equipment. We are at an angle position in the church. Looking at the position of the streets, all the roads have been marked," Pomanto.

"We are waiting for a complete report from the police. What is clear is that we share our duties. I am with the church congregation, at least it gives peace. Stay at home. Don't post pictures that weaken us all," Pomanto reiterated.
