Russian Diplomat Accuses West Of Sponsoring Ukraine's Terrorism

JAKARTA - Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova said the West acted as sponsor of terrorism when it spoke of the use of Western donated weapons by Kyiv to carry out attacks within Russia.

"They show what is called coordination of this activity in a provocative and blatant way. It's about turning the Kiev regime into a terrorist organization and then sponsoring it," he said at a briefing.

According to Zakharova, Western controllers in Kyiv "ospherically continue to push their Kiev dolls to continue the crazy adventures and suicide of Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk Region."

In this regard, Zakharova referred to the statement by the Head of European Union Foreign Policy Josep Borrell who claimed that lifting restrictions on the use of weapons against Russia would strengthen Ukraine's self-defense and encourage peacekeeping efforts.

Pentagon Deputy Press Secretary Sabrina Singh made a more aggressive statement on August 22, Zakharova said.

Singh said Washington's policy allowed Ukraine "to carry out retaliatory attacks to defend itself against Russian attacks" coming from across the border, which includes Russia's Kursk territory.

"And now, the Pentagon chief is allegedly planning to discuss with Kyiv whether the Ukrainian army intends to control territory in the Kursk Region," said Zakharova.

In his view, the West "has gone further by claiming the Ukrainian army's attack on Russia will push for peace efforts," he said.

He stressed that all these statements "are nothing but an attempt to find excuses and encourage the crimes of the Kyiv regime." And this is what is meant by supporting terrorism," Zakharova concluded.
