KPK Finds Evidence Of Alleged Corruption In The Management Of PEN Funds After Searching The House And Office Of The Situbondo Regent

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) completed searches at the official residence and office of the Regent of Situbondo, East Java today. This forced effort was carried out in connection with allegations of corruption in the management of the National Economic Recovery (PEN) fund at the Situbondo Regency Government for the period 2021-2024.

"Rekan-rekan penyidik telah melaksanakan kegiatan penggeledahan. Informasi yang kami terima di rumah dinas dan kantor bupati," kata Juru Bicara KPK Tessa Mahardika kepada wartawan di gedung Merah Putih KPK, Kuningan Persada, Jakarta Selatan, Rabu, 28 Agustus.

"From the search, investigators found evidence which was then continued with confiscation. (There is, red) electronic evidence as well as several documents related to procurement at the Situbondo Regency Government," he said.

This search, called Tessa, is still ongoing. However, he did not specify the exact location.

After forced efforts are made, investigators will then ask for information. Related parties such as witnesses and suspects will be summoned.

"After the search is complete, an analysis of the evidence that has been confiscated will be carried out and witnesses and suspects will be summoned to clarify the documents or evidence that have been confiscated," explained the spokesman with the investigator's background.

Previously reported, the KPK conducted investigations into alleged corruption related to the management of national economic recovery funds (PEN) as well as the procurement of goods and services (PBJ) in the Situbondo Regency Government in 2021-2024. Two people were named as suspects.

This investigation is said to have been carried out since August 6. The two parties named as suspects are KS and EP as state administrators in the Situbondo Regency Government.

However, the anti-corruption commission has not been able to detail the two suspects. They were only revealed when the forced detention effort was carried out after the evidence was declared sufficient.
