Gerindra Usung Benjamin-Pilar In South Tangerang Pilwalkot Replaces Riza Patria-Marshel

JAKARTA - Ahmad Riza Patria and Marshel Widianto are confirmed to have canceled their progress in the South Tangerang (Tangsel) Pilwalkot. Now, the Gerindra Party has changed course by carrying Benyamin Davnie and Pilar Saga Ichsan, who were first promoted by the Golkar Party.

This was acknowledged by Riza Patria who was met when he accompanied Ridwan Kamil-Suswono to register as a candidate for Governor-Deputy Governor of Jakarta.

"Gerindra's support has been transferred to Benjamin-Pilar," said Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Regional Leadership Council (DPD) Ahmad Riza Patria at the DKI Jakarta KPU Office, Wednesday, August 28.

Riza, who is a former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, admitted that he got another assignment from his party. However, he did not reveal what the task was.

"I got another assignment, later a special task from the party. That's why I resigned, yes," said Riza.

Likewise with Marshel. Komika, who is now also a Gerindra cadre, called Riza, also received other duties from the party led by Prabowo Subianto.

"Yes, the same, later the same. Because he is a cadre, later there will be other tasks, yes," he replied.

When asked whether the task was related to Ridwan Kamil-Suswono's winning strategy or because he got a seat in Prabowo-Gibran's cabinet, Riza was reluctant to answer.

"Anyway, as a cadre, you always obey and obey wherever you are assigned, no matter how much, cadres must obey, they must be loyal and must sacrifice discipline, trust and trust," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the support from the PKS party for the Riza-Marshel pair was withdrawn. The Constitutional Court's decision regarding the reduction in the threshold for nomination of regional heads is the reason PKS canceled the investigation of Marshel Widianto in the election of the Deputy Mayor of South Tangerang.

Following that, the Democrat Party and PAN also withdrew support for Riza-Marshel in line with the news that the two of them canceled running for the South Tangerang Pilkada. PAN and Democrats are now carrying Benjamin-Pilar.
