Benjamin's Advice In 'The Doel Of Betawi Children' To Rano Karno Breaks Up During The Jakarta Gubernatorial Election List

JAKARTA - Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno's candidate recalled his role as Doel in the sitcom 'The Doel Anak Betawi' when he registered with the Regional General Election Commission (KPUD) Jakarta with his partner Pramono Anung to run in the 2024 Pilkada.

Rano in the sitcom received advice from his father, Babe Sabeni, played by the late Benjamin Sueb, to maximize his ability to finance lectures. Babe Sabeni also wants Doel to be the leader of Jakarta.

"What is certain is that Babe Sabeni said, "Once in a while I saw you become Deputy Governor of DKI, Doel," said Rano at the KPUD Jakarta Office, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, August 28.

For Rano, the advice was imprinted on his mind so that he spurred him not to harbor his potential for the people of Jakarta.

On this occasion, Rano was grateful to have the opportunity to realize Babe Sabeni's wish. Receiving support from his party, PDI-P (PDIP), Rano admitted that he would be a mandate if he was elected with Pramono Anung to build the Jakarta government.

"So once again in reality, we are supported by one party, namely the PDI-P, but I am sure the people of Jakarta will give us the opportunity to win and build this beloved city," said Rano.

The candidate pair (paslon) for governor and deputy governor of Jakarta, Pramono-Rano arrived at the Jakarta KPUD to register for the Jakarta Pilkada at around 11.02 WIB, Wednesday, August 28.

Pramono-Rano headed to KPUD Jakarta riding a blue and black oplet typical of the sitcom 'Si Doel Anak Betawi'. The ondel-ondel accompaniment and the Betawi typical musical instrument also enlivened this data collection.

The two of them were seen wearing Betawi clothes, complete with caps and sarongs. Also accompanying PDIP cadres, one of them is Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok.
