West Sumatra KPU Receives Mahyeldi-Vasko Pair Registration

The General Election Commission of West Sumatra Province received registration for candidate pair for governor and deputy governor Mahyeldi-Vasko Ruseimy on the first day of registration for the 2024 West Sumatra Regional Head Election participants.

"The nomination document is declared complete and meets the requirements, including the documents for the candidate to be declared complete," said member of the West Sumatra Provincial General Election Commission (KPU) Ory Sativa Syakban in Padang as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 27.

After receiving the registration for the candidate pairs promoted by PKS, the Gerindra Party, Perindo, Democrats, and the United Nations, the KPU will then carry out administrative verification targeted for completion on September 4, 2024.

After administrative verification, the West Sumatra KPU will announce the status of prospective governors and deputy governors who have registered. Furthermore, the KPU will conduct a health check on prospective candidate pairs at the designated hospital.

From the medical examination, three documents will be given to prospective pairs, namely physical, spiritual, and certificates of drug examination results (SKHPN).

The Mahyeldi-Vasko pair will conduct a health check at Dr. M. Djamil Hospital, Padang, on August 30, 2024 at 07.00 WIB. Then for other candidate pairs who register on August 29, health checks are scheduled for August 31 at the same hospital.

West Sumatra KPU chairman Surya Efitrimen said the KPU gave a deadline for prospective candidate pairs to repair incomplete requirements documents before plenary election participants were determined on September 22, 2024.

Berdasarkan arahan KPU RI, bakal pasangan calon tidak boleh didiantar ke rumah sakit oleh partai penggung maupun pendukung, tetapi hanya boleh didampingi asisten pasangan tersebut.

Health checks for prospective pairs will coincide with health checks for prospective regents and deputy regents as well as prospective mayors and deputy mayors from 19 regions.

"So, the health checks, ten (regions) at Dr. M. Djamil, Padang, and nine more at Andalas University Hospital," he said.
