PONTIANAK - A man with the initials AR died in a hotel room in the Jalan Soeprapto area, South Pontianak District, Pontianak City, West Kalimantan.

AR died along with his date, a friend with the initials EM, Monday.

South Pontianak Police Chief AKP Jatmiko explained that the discovery of AR's body began with information from the hotel to the police who heard screams from EM asking for help.

"When we went to the crime scene, when we were examined, it was found that a man was already dead on the bed face down," said Jatmiko, Tuesday, August 27.

"Previously, they would have a husband and wife relationship. Then the victim suddenly screamed, then died," said Jatmiko.

Hearing the screams, the victim's female friend immediately reported to the hotel clerk. When the hotel clerk arrived in the room, the victim was found to be in a stationary position.

"Then when the officers arrived, it turned out that the victim had died," he said.

He explained, based on the examination at the scene, officers found items suspected of being ecstasy drugs and also methamphetamine.

"However, we are still investigating whether this is what makes the victim die," he said.

Meanwhile, Jatmiko explained, based on an external examination, officers did not find any element of violence against the victim.

"The results of the external examination did not find any signs of violence. However, the exact cause will be known if the family agrees to an autopsy," he explained.

Currently, continued Jatmiko, the family has come and stated that they accepted this incident as a disaster. The police have also secured a number of evidences and collected witness statements.
