Bitten By A Snake, Two Bedouin Residents Treated At Rangkasbitung Hospital

JAKARTA - Two Bedouin residents were referred to the Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung Regional General Hospital (RSUD), Lebak Regency, Banten because they were bitten by a earth snake (Calloselasma rhodostoma).

"The two residents who were bitten by a ground snake have been treated by medical personnel," said Chairman of the Coordinator of the Friends of Indonesian Volunteers (SRI) Muhammad Arif Kirdiat when confirmed by Antara in Rangkasbitung, Lebak, Banten, Sunday.

The Bedouin residents who were victims of deadly snake bites were Natin or Amir's father from Batu Belah Village, and Jali from Ciranji Village, Kanekes Village, Leuwidamar District, Lebak Regency.

Jali's condition has recovered after undergoing treatment, while Natin on her way to Adjidarmo Rangkasbitung Hospital had experienced vomiting.

"We hope that the victims of the venomous snake bite will return to health," said Arif.

He explained that the victim who was bitten by a ground snake who was referred to the hospital had BPJS Health assistance from the government so that they were free of charge.

Baduy people, he said, often become victims of deadly snake bites, especially now entering the field season.

"We refer to the victims of venomous snake bites to the hospital every month," he added.

Medical officers from volunteers when receiving information from Bedouin residents about the victim's bite, immediately moved quickly to provide help to the location by walking through a steep and steep forest.

"We volunteers have medical personnel consisting of midwives and nurses, so we can provide assistance for Bedouin residents who are victims of snake bites," he said.
