KY: Examination Results Of Free Verdict Judge Ronald Tannur Announced At Pleno

The Judicial Commission (KY) revealed that the results of the examination of three judges at the Surabaya District Court (PN), East Java who acquitted the defendant Gregorius Ronald Tannur (GRT) in the murder case of Dini Sera Afrianti will be announced at the plenary trial.

KY member and spokesman Mukti Fajar Nur Dewata said the plenary trial would decide the sanctions imposed on the judges if found guilty during the previous examination process.

"We will hold a plenary session for this decision no later than early September," Mukti said when met after a discussion entitled Reflection on Enforcement of Judges Integrity for Clean Justice in Purwokerto, Central Java, quoted from Antara, Saturday, August 24.

He said the KY Investigation Team had examined three judges from the Surabaya District Court at the Surabaya High Court, Monday (19/8). The examination was carried out for approximately five hours.

During the examination, he said, everything was investigated, especially regarding whether or not there were violations during the trial process against Ronald Tannur.

Therefore, Mukti asked all parties to wait for the plenary session of KY to find out the results of the full examination of the three judges because at this time the results of the examination could not be disclosed to the public.

"Wait for the plenary," he said.

Previously, Monday (29/7), Dini Sera's father and sister who were accompanied by their attorneys, Dimas Yemaburah, and Rieke Pitaloka politician registered reports of alleged violations of the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct of Judges (KEPPH) to KY.

The complainant believes that there is a contradiction between the indictment and the demands and the results of the panel of judges' considerations. Therefore, the reporter wants KY to examine alleged violations of the KEPPH and impose a recommendation for dismissal of the three judges who decided the case.

"We ask that KY can provide the best recommendation, namely our hope is the termination of the judge who examined this case at the Surabaya District Court. That is our hope," said Dimas.
