Consistently Supporting Prabowo 3 Times Presidential Candidate, Jokowi About Cabinet Chair: There Should Be Additional PAN

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) called the National Mandate Party (PAN) the most consistent political party in supporting Prabowo Subianto's candidacy. Even PAN's support for Prabowo has been around for 15 years, aka three terms.

"Let's see, the sustainability of PAN support for Pak Prabowo, please note this, Mr. Secretary General of Gerindra Pak Muzani, I remember, we all remember that we have had three consecutive times," Jokowi said in his remarks at the PAN Congress VI at the Hotel Indonesia Kempinski, Jakarta, Friday, August 23.

Jokowi brought up PAN already supported Prabowo against him in the 2014 and 2019 presidential elections. PAN support, he said, did not change for the General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party during the fight in the 2024 presidential election against Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo.

"(Pilpres) 2014 is with me, there is Pak Prabowo, PAN supports Pak Prabowo. 2019 is with me, there is Pak Prabowo PAN again supporting Pak Prabowo. 2024 is Pak Anies, there is Pak Prabowo, there is Pak Ganjar, PAN also continues to support Pak Prabowo. Three times in a row, consistent and most consistent," continued Jokowi.

Therefore, Jokowi assessed that PAN deserves additional seats in the Prabowo-Gibran government cabinet.

"I feel like there should be an addition, three times Mr. Muzani (Secretary General of Gerindra), three times consistently," said Jokowi.

"The addition is up to Pak Prabowo because he has the prerogative of the president," he added.
