Officially Accepting Democratic Nominations, Kamala Harris Promises To Become President For All US Citizens

JAKARTA - Kamal Harris officially accepted his candidacy as a presidential candidate for the 2024 General Election, after participating in the Democratic National Convention which was held for four days in Chicago, United States which ended Thursday evening local time.

"On behalf of the people, on behalf of every American, regardless of the party, race, gender, or language used by a grandmother, on behalf of my mother and everyone who has ever traveled unusually, on behalf of Americans, like the people who grew up with me, the people who worked hard, chased their dreams, and looked after each other, on behalf of everyone whose stories can only be written in the greatest country of the world, I accept your candidacy as President of the United States," reported CNN August 23.

The incumbent of the US Vice President became the first black woman and the first Asian-American to lead a major party. If elected, Harris will be the first woman and American president of Indian descent.

On that occasion, he vowed to become president to all Americans.

"I know there are a lot of people with various political views watching tonight," he said after receiving a nomination.

"And I want you to know: I promise to be president to all Americans. You can always trust me to put the country above the party and yourself," he stressed.

"To uphold the basic principles of America, from the rule of law to free and fair elections, to the transfer of power peacefully. I will be the president who unites us around our highest aspirations. A president who leads and listens, who is realistic, practical, and has common sense. And always fights for the American people. This is my life's job," he said.
