Bawaslu Clarifies The Case Report Of Profiting NIK Dharma Pongrekun-Kun Wardana

JAKARTA - The Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) Jakarta has received seven reports related to the alleged crime of profiteering of the Population Identification Number (NIK) carried out by prospective pairs of individual candidates and is currently in the clarification stage.

"There are five who have clarified, two more reporters have not arrived. A total of seven reports," said DKI Jakarta Public Relations, Data and Information Division Coordinator Quin Pegagan as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, August 22.

The Jakarta Bawaslu is currently clarifying the alleged crime of profiteering by the pair of individual candidates Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana.

According to him, there are seven reports related to profiteering of NIK to support individual candidate pairs, namely from individuals and also the Legal Aid Institute, and all will be asked for information first.

"Currently, the clarification on the reporting of alleged criminal acts of profiteering of NIK is for the support of individual candidates from individual reporters, and LBH Yusuf," he said.

Previously, the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu Munandar Nugraha said that although the DKI KPU had determined the candidate pair for Dharma-Kun for the Jakarta Pilkada, reports that entered Bawaslu were still being processed.

According to him, Bawaslu DKI Jakarta will first investigate the report, whether it is indeed included in the election violation or not.

When asked about the opportunity to annull the decree (SK) issued by the DKI KPU regarding the determination of individual candidates, Munandarmenjawab needed to conduct a study to determine future steps.

"Later, we will first investigate the existing reports and we will examine them more deeply. We will check first later, we will see what the studies are like," he said.

Bawaslu said Munandar, from August 16 to 19, 403 people had received public reports related to NIK, and after checking or verifying it turned out that it did not meet the requirements (TMS).

Therefore, Munandar asked the public to continue reporting irregularities during the 2024 Pilkada process, this is important because the regional elections are good if they involve community participation.

"So we thank the public for participating. Because public participation does not only come to polling stations. But in all existing stages of the process, everyone can participate," he said.
