6 Of The 12 Candidates For Kompolnas Members Will Be Elected By President Jokowi

JAKARTA - The selection committee (pansel) for candidates for members of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) will carry out the interview process for 24 participants who passed the assessment test. Pansel chairman Hermawan Sulistyo said that from 24 participants he would be screened to 12 participants which would later be handed over to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"12 (names) will be sent to the president through the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto. Then, the president will choose six of the 12. So (the process) is still long," he said, Wednesday, August 21.

Hermawan said the interview test process will take place on September 2-4, 2024 at 08.30 WIB at the Grand Kemang Hotel, Kemang Raya, South Jakarta. He said the participants would be questioned by eight panel judges.

"Through an interview test and ganged up. Later these eight judges will gang up (at the same time) on everyone until they are selected 12 out of 24. The material interviewed does not yet know, but one of them is a source of public input," said Hermawan.

Secretary of the Pansel Kompolnas Yenti Garnasih added that after the panel interview test, he would return to a plenary meeting until finally deciding on 12 candidates for Kompolnas members. Yenti did not know when the deadline for the announcement of the elected candidate would be because she was waiting for President Jokowi's willingness through the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Hadi Tjahjanto.

"The 12 will later be determined by the sixth president, consisting of three representatives of existing community leaders and we have carried out since the initial process and three from police figures, that is what is expected," explained Yenti.

Previously, 36 candidates for Kompolnas members took the assessment test which took place on August 13-15, 2024. Of the 36 people, only 24 had passed the interview test stage.

Head of the Pen Competent Police Assessment Division Kombes Pol Eka Satria Bakthi conveyed a series of assessment tests that had been passed by the participants, namely problem analysis (problem analysis), leader group discussion (LGD). Then, IDX (behaviour interview) or interview and psychometry.
