Jokowi Asked To Join Golkar: Ask The Golkar Chairman, Don't Ask Me

JAKARTA - President Jokowi reiterated that the yellow shirt he wore at the closing of the Golkar National Conference was intended to appreciate Golkar's great celebration.

"I am here and once again I want to appreciate, appreciate those who have a big celebration, the Golkar Party. There is no problem with this (showing clothes)," Jokowi told reporters after the closing of the Golkar National Conference at JCC, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 21.

When Jokowi was asked again by reporters about the plan to join the party bearing the banyan tree, he again did not answer straightforwardly.

"Ask the general chairman of the Golkar Party. Don't ask me," he said

In his remarks, President Jokowi spoke about the yellow shirt worn while attending the closing of the Golkar National Conference at JCC, Jakarta. Jokowi admitted to respecting Golkar the owner of the celebration.

"Ladies and gentlemen, once again, someone may ask why you wear yellow clothes, why? Anyone can answer, I give you a bicycle. Yes, the clothes are adjusted, the clothes I wear are in honor of those who have the event, namely the Golkar Party, don't go anywhere first," Jokowi said in his closing remarks at the Golkar National Conference, Wednesday, August 21.

Jokowi said he was happy to attend the Golkar National Conference. The reason is that the party bearing the banyan tree symbol has a big contribution to Indonesia's progress.

"When I see a banyan tree, the luggage is cool, the luggage is cool. Especially during the day, which is hot, it is hot, if under the banyan tree the luggage is cool," said Jokowi.

The President also praised Golkar as a party open to anyone. Jokowi mentioned one by one the names of the Golkar chairman from time to time.

"We will see the history of the chairman of Golkar from anywhere, from Java Pak Agung Laksono, Setya Novanto, Airlangga, from Sumatra Mr. Aburizal Bakrie, Akbar Tandjung from Central Tapanuli, there are also from Sulawesi Mr. Jusuf Kalla, Makassar and now the ketum is now from Papua," said Jokowi.

"This means that the Golkar Party is very Indonesian, and don't forget that tonight I wore yellow. Golkar's pluralism is really very well maintained, very harmonious, which in my opinion makes Golkar more shady than others," he said.
