The Batam BP Office Was Ransacked By The Police In The Protected Forest Management Case

BARELANG - Investigators from the Barelang City Police searched the Batam Concession Agency office regarding the investigation into the protected forest land management case involving one of the companies. The Head of the Barelang Police, Kombes Heribertus Ompusung, confirmed that the search was in order to find evidence. "That's right. We conducted a search because the investigation was hampered by the collection of evidence," said Ompusunggu in Barelang, Antara, Wednesday, August 21. The search was carried out in order to find documents based on a court order. According to him, the search was carried out according to standard operating procedures (SOP). "The process has been carried out according to the SOP," he said. He explained that this legal step was taken after checking, processing the land over a protected forest. Investigators have written to the Batam BP Land Agency three times, but have not heeded it. "We have found a violation. PT Karlina Cahaya Batam is in the land archives," said Ompusunggu. Regarding this case, he said, a number of witnesses have been examined. Meanwhile, the land intended is currently a quo status. The search took place at around 15.00 WIB and until this news was revealed, investigators from Unit V of the Barelang Police were still working.

Confirmed separately, a spokesman for the Batam Welly District Court did not know about the search conducted by Barelang Police investigators based on the court's decision. "We do not know about the search," said Welly.
