Chairman of the PDI-P (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri will announce 169 candidates for regional head who will be promoted in the 2024 Pilkada on Thursday, August 22.

"Mrs. Megawati will again announce regional head candidates and deputy regional head candidates for the second wave," said PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto in a written statement, Wednesday, August 21.

The total to be announced is 169 candidate pairs. Details of the name of the candidate pair and their region will be delivered tomorrow," he continued.

Meanwhile, when asked whether there will be a candidate in the DKI Jakarta Pilkada which will be announced at 13.00 WIB tomorrow afternoon, Hasto did not answer. He only mentioned that the name submitted would be in accordance with the decision of the Constitutional Court (MK) yesterday.
