SAR Team Searches For 4 Victims Of Shipwreck In Alor Waters, NTT

LABUAN BAJO - The joint search and rescue team (SAR) conducted a search for four victims of the ship who were reported to have sunk in the waters of Pulau Pura, Alor Regency, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province. "We received information from the reporter on behalf of Baharudin Molang on Tuesday (20/8) at around 18.00 WITA, KM Lebanon with a total of 23 passengers drowning around Pulau Pura waters due to waves and strong currents around the waters of Pulau Pura," said Head of the Maumere Basarnas Office Supriyanto Ridwan, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 21. He explained that at the time of the incident as many as 19 passengers had been evacuated using fishing boats, but as many as passengers were reported missing.

The four victims sought, he continued, namely Desi Huluang (28), Olivia Duka (5), Agustina Pulinggomang (10), and Grais A Djha (5). "The joint SAR team moved to the scene to return to combing the waters of Pulau Pura to approximately two Nautical Mile (NM) from the scene," he said.

"Currently, we are still in the process of searching for victims who have not been found. We really hope that the victims will be found safely," he said. In the second day of search, he said, the joint SAR team deployed the main equipment (defense equipment) in the form of Searider KSOP Alor and rubber boats of the Alor SAR Post.
